Moore Finishes Fourth, Stanley T19 at the Travelers Print E-mail
Monday, 29 June 2009
Ryan Moore is clearly enjoying his best form of the 2009 season so far. Last week, the 26-year-old from Puyallup posted rounds of 70, 69, 72 and 71 on a soggy Bethpage Black at the US Open to record his second ever top-ten finish in a major championship. This week, with rounds of 66, 65, 68 and a brilliant 64 Sunday (263 total, -17), Moore vaulted five places up the overnight leaderbard into a tie for fourth, five shots behind winner Kenny Perry, earning $248,000 and 115 FedEx Cup points that saw him climb 21 spots on the table into 73rd.
Moore's round Sunday was a picture of consistency - six birdies, no bogies; two halves of three-under-par 32 and a thrilling birdie at the last from 35ft. It lead to his best finish of the year, and a third top-ten.

Meanwhile Kyle Stanley, playing in his first tournament as a professional, discovered he clearly has the game to hang with these guys. Rounds of 66, 67, 70 and a closing 66 were good enough for T19 and a check for $75,300.
