Harrington leads on -8 After yesterday's level par 71 in less than perfect conditions and three birdies to start his second round, Ryan Moore was pushing for a position in the top ten at the Transitions Championship, being played at the Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, FL today. Bogeys at the 13th and 17th (his fourth and eighth holes) were disappointing without being disastrous, but a triple-bogey seven at the 18th, a 445-yard uphill Par 4, sent him spiralling down the leaderboard and, at two-over-par for the tournament, in danger of missing the cut. Moore immediately got a shot back with a birdie four on the Par 5 1st hole and returned to even par for the day with another birdie at the Par 5 5th. But he bogeyed the 6th and 7th holes, eventually signed for a two-over 73 and at 144 for 36 holes looked likely to miss out on the weekend. Moore spent the afternoon watching the cut line which did eventually drop to 144 allowing Moore to make his sixth cut from seven starts this year. He will play the third round with Sergio Garcia who posted rounds of 73 and 71. Alex Prugh improved on his birdieless 78 of yesterday by seven shots today, but on 149 missed the cut by five shots. It is his second MC in a row following his first of the season in Puerto Rico last week. Ireland's Padraig Harrington leads the tournament on 134, -8. |
