Pepper Roberts Pepper Roberts operates the American Lake Veterans Golf Course on Veterans Drive in Tacoma. The Korean War veteran, and the nine-hole course have been nominated for a 2010 MSN Butterfly Award which acknowledges exceptional people and charities. Were it not for an untimely bout of flu, the WSGA Player of the Year may well have qualified for Q School and, who knows, now be holding a card for next year's PGA Tour. But the virus he battled at second stage qualifying in California affected him badly, so now he has to do it all again next year. We caught up with the former Husky and discovered he is still very determined to one day play on the biggest stage of all. Full story
