Oki Golf announced recently a new scheme designed, says CEO Nancy Cho, to 'develop the next generation of golfers'. For the rest of the year, children between the ages of eight and 17 can play for free with a paying adult after 6pm at any OKI Golf-owned facility. The program, says Cho, is the first of its kind in Washington State.
'We realize that golf is not cheap,' Cho adds, 'and to expect kids this young to be able to afford golf on a regular basis is not realistic.  Our 'Family Golf' program will make golf more accessible to junior golfers. The goal is to increase the number of young golfers in this region, allowing them to develop a fondness for golf and to play it for a lifetime.'
The program begun on June 15th and will run the rest of the year at all eight Oki properties - The Golf Club at Newcastle (China Creek only), Washington National Golf Club, Trophy Lake Golf and Casting, The Golf Club at Echo Falls, The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie, Indian Summer Golf and Country Club, The Plateau Club and Harbour Pointe Golf Club.

To be eligible, juniors must purchase a Junior Players Card at $39.99 which includes one unrestricted round at any of the Oki Golf public courses (excluding the Coal Creek course at Newcastle), special junior rates during prime-time hours and access to all Oki Golf special events and tournaments. Once the junior player obtains this card, they will receive an instruction/etiquette sheet stating the program's guidelines.
