A year after Denis Watson beat six other players to win the third ever Boeing Classic (David Eger and Tom Kite won the first and second respectively), another top quality field of 78 Champions Tour players will tee it up at the TPC Snoqualmie Ridge this coming Friday for a share of the $1.7million purse. As in previous years, a full schedule of events is planned for the week starting Monday morning with NW Ford Stores NFL Alumni Rumble at the Ridge which begins at 8.30am (gates open at 6.30am). Appearing will be: Kevin Calabro (playing with the Sounders), Sam Cunningham, Clint Didier, Carl Eller (HOF), Nuu Faaola, Nesby Glasgow, Jacob Green (ROH), Mike Haynes (HOF), Ted Hendricks (HOF), Kenny Houston (HOF), Norm Johnson, Kasey Keller (Sounders FC), Jeff Kemp , Dave Krieg (ROH), Steve Largent (HOF/ROH), Greg Lewis, Tom Mack (HOF), Mike McCormack (HOF), Alonzo Mitz, Randall Morris, Jack Patera , Mark Pattison, Ray Pinney, Otis Sistrunk, Paul Skansi, Mack Strong, Mosi Tatupu, Jack Thompson, Tom Turnure, Curt Warner (ROH), Brett Wiese, Dave Wilcox (HOF), Kellen Winslow (HOF) and Charle Young among others. Champions Tour players will have the opportunity to practice in the afternoon, and again Tuesday morning prior to the First Tee of Greater Seattle Family Golf Clinic when Semiahmoo head pro Jeff Coston will be passing on tips and fielding questions.  Jeff Coston On Wednesday and Thursday it's the Seahawks Pro-Am, then the tournament itself kicks off with a flyover by a Boeing 777 at about 11.25 on Friday morning. Among the field are 13 regular Tour major champions and 15 other major winners from the Champions Tour including last month's winner of the Senior British Open Bruce Vaughn.  Bernhard Langer Double Masters champion Bernhard Langer is making his first appearance at the event as is last week's winner Fred Funk who captured the Jeld-Wen Tradition at Crosswater by three shots from Mike Goodes with Tom Watson two shots firther back.
Chief beneficiary of the event will once again be the Heart Institue at Virgina Mason Hospital which, along with other Greater Seattle charities, received more than $2.3 million in the tournament's first three years.
