Olympia's Cameron Peck survived a pulsating semi-final match against Dominic Bozelli at the US Junior Amateur Friday, eventually coming back from two down with two to play to win at the second extra hole and progress to Saturday's 36-hole final. At three down through ten holes, Peck looked to be on his way out, but birdies at the 11th, 12th and 17th plus a battling par at the tough 443-yard Par 4 home hole saw him level the match. The pair halved the first extra hole with pars, but Bozelli bogeyed the next handing Peck the victory.
Clearly affected by mounting pressure, both players were round 18 holes in an estimated four-over 76. In his morning quarter-final match against Argentina's Emiliano Grillo, Peck had started with seven straight fours before recording three successive threes. When he won on the 14th green, he was a total of four under fours.

In the final, Peck will meet 17-year-old Evan Beck of Virginia Beach, VA, who started the week as an alternate. In his semi-final match, Beck was taken all the way to the 18th by 14-year-old Jordan Spieth who had knocked out Tacoma's Andrew Yun in the quareter-finals in the morning and who was looking to become the youngest ever winner of the US Junior. After losing the 3rd to a par, however, he was never able get back on level terms.
