NCAA Championship Course Will Be a Real Test of Character |

'I really don't have much to add to yesterday's blog except that the course may be even more difficult than I thought! Today the wind blew pretty hard making practice round #2 even more difficult than the first. Several players and coaches with extensive US Open experience say the US Open has never had anything like this in the way of rough. It's sort of like a 36 degree day in Husky Stadium with high winds and pouring rain. It's not what you would choose for your own pleasure, but you hope it gives you a better chance to win because of your mental strength.
We tee off at tomorrow 7:47 in the morning and the forecast is 48 degrees and 14 mph wind. I have no idea what to expect. We've talked about everything and I'm sure all coaches are saying the same things to their teams. The question is: which teams will really be able to maintain the patience and perspective?
The guys look pretty good with their golf games and had an excellent practice session after the round. I wish we had more parents and fans here because I think the team with the best and most ball spotters will win.
All that sort of negative stuff aside....I think it is a great set up for us to beat a lot of people. We are really excited to be here as a team and we realize what a wonderful opportunity we have ahead of us. If we can be strong we can really finish well because these conditions will demoralize most teams. So if you take enjoyment and even golf out of the equation, this is a great set up for us to win a championship! The guys know this. Should be fun!'
