Norm Bradley of Kelowna, BC carded an opening round 68, four-under-par, Tuesday to lead the field at the 25th PNGA Men's Mid-Amateur Championship being played at Christina Lake Golf Club in British Columbia. One shot back is Ben Griffin of Victoria, BC, and two back are defending champion Sandy Harper of Nanaimo, BC, Gregory Brown of Coeur d'Alene ID, and Washington's top player after the first round; Mill Creek's Alex Stamey. The Pacific Northwest Men's Mid-Amateur Championship is a 54-hole stroke play event, with a 36-hole cut that will see only the top 60 and ties play the final round. To be eligible, contestants must be 25 or older on the first day of competition and have a current USGA Handicap Index or RCGA Handicap Factor of 8.4 or better.
