Conditions were so tough in fact, the stroke average for the day was 85.4, up half a stroke from day one, and the best rounds of the day were the 79s carded by Bellingham's Katie Sharpe and Bellevue's Jordan Allyne.
Sharp climbed into the top ten while Allyne, the runner-up at last year’s championship, bounced back after a disappointing first round 83 into a tie for fourth with Spokane’s Haley Parsons on 162 after 36 holes. Bellingham's Paige Rachor is in third on 161, fifteen over par.
In the Senior Division, Anne Carr of Renton, WA, and Ann Swanson of Redmond, WA, shot 78 and 77 respectively, to end the day in a two-way tie for first at 156. Ginny Burke is third on 159, followed by Yasue Alkins on 162.
