Bowdy Ehler defeated Kyle Crawford of Coos Bay, OR, on the fourth hole of a playoff Sunday to win the 25th Pacific Northwest Golf Association Men's Amateur Public Links Championship being played at Hangman Valley GC. Ehler, 22, earned his spot in the play-off after posting a second round 69, three-under-par, to tie Crawford on 141. One shot back in third was Tyler Johnson of Hayden, ID.
Kate Hildahl of Tualatin, OR, won the 11th PNGA Women's Amateur Public Links, held concurrently with the men's event, by four shots from Bellingham's Catherine Allen. Hildahl shot rounds of 72 and 73 for a 145 total, one-over-par. In the men's senior division, Kent Brown of Colville had a successful won his third successive PNGA APL title, finishing at 4-under par 140 and winning by four strokes.
