Adam Hadwin, Jacob Koppenberg, Ricky McDonald and TJ Bordeaux all progressed to the US Amateur Championship today after finishing in the top four at a 36-hole sectional qualifier at Chambers Bay. Hadwin of Abbotsford, BC, led the 86-man field with a four-under par total of 140 (71, 69), a superb performance given the conditions. Koppenberg from Everett and McDonald of Shoreline both shot 142 while Bordeaux knabbed the last spot with rounds of 71 and 75. Devin Carrey, Chris Kilmer and Robbie Ziegler finished on 147, 148 and 149 respectively and will be alternates for the event to be played at Pinehurst No. 2 and No. 4 from August 18th to the 24th.
